PShaw, that's how I had to do it. Slackware on floppy. Pre-internet search engine, one computer per household. No cellular data.

windows -> Dial up -> look at some docs, take nodes -> reboot into Slackware -> mess with the console -> get stuck -> reboot into windows -> repeat

One doesn't need to panic buy items that they keep in stock at sufficient levels. :)

Context for the masses...

”Strabismus (crossed eyes) is a common eye condition among children. It is when the eyes are not lined up properly and they point in different directions (misaligned). One eye may look straight ahead while the other eye turns in, out, up, or down."

cat: You know what makes you feel better? feeding me! that ALWAYS cheers you up!

[–] linearchaos 10 points 1 month ago

As I said, not for cost saving, but more for not needing to go out when people start panicking, or being stupid

[–] linearchaos 2 points 1 month ago

The search term to find it is autologon, but as everyone has mentioned, this is a last resort and JF should just be run as a service.

Hells yeah, trying not to programmatically block things so I don't miss something that's actually important, but you can't doom scroll this @#$%

Food, but not primarily for cost savings as most regular used things things don't last longer than a year, which cost wise won't bridge the gap.

55 lbs of 00 flour in the chest freezer, still have about 25lbs of AP flour in there. 1 30lb bag of Jasmine Rice, 1 25 lb basmati. I still have a ton of beans and and dry pasts in mylar/oxy absorb sitting in barens cans for long term storage. When covid started, I had 1 million calories in storage. I don't plan to go back to that, but I intend to be able to hunker down for a long time.

For work, I'm pushing to purchase more laptops before tariffs.

I've considered stowing fuel with a stabilizer but even if prices double on fuel, I don't use enough of it to make a difference.

It would be a good time to buy any lithium ion batteries and finish off those ali-express/temu orders.

Honestly, it had more validity behind it in the '80s. When you were just starting out your career you didn't have a house yet you didn't have any wealth amassed, The ideals of the left really shown through. But once you got older and started having some money, the fiscal Republican ticket sold you on tax cuts and provided boosts to help certain investment opportunities. It was still mostly just bullshit to make themselves rich but there was some financial opportunity there. It's pretty much long gone for middle-class advantage anymore though.

GDI Walz, it's ok to be out of touch and confused, but keep the fucking quiet part quiet. Figure it out and fix it, reboot the DNC to the left and give us something compelling. I voted, but more as a sense of duty than actual being hopeful for the future.

You really need to get your backups in order.

Josh and Nicole, already overfull from a previous adventure power through the most significant offerings from Del Taco (based in CA but slowly spreading US wide) and Taco Bell. They cover some history and discuss the finer points of some of the dishes.

I was a little worried he was just going to hack some trash together, but he did this right. I knew we were in for a treat when he actually used some protective measures.

Cats, and apparently capybaras are an invasive species on social media. I don't hate them or anything but they show up everywhere in places they have new business being.

Kenji shows a great way to get use out of some day old pasta. I always do stir fry rice from day old rice but never considered using old noodles. The recipe works out great and sounds like a time and money saver.

Ethan has a great guest star and does a blind taste test to see if "American Wagyu" ground beef is anything special.

The Statue of Unity is the world's tallest statue, with a height of 182 metres (597 feet), located near Kevadia in the state of Gujarat, India. It depicts Indian statesman and independence activist Vallabhbhai Patel (1875–1950), who was the first deputy prime minister and home minister of independent India...

The project was first announced in 2010, and construction started in October 2013 ... with a total construction cost of ₹27 billion (US$422 million). It was designed by Indian sculptor Ram V. Sutar and was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, on 31 October 2018, the 143rd anniversary of Patel's birth.

The camera auto adjusts exposure and it gets all derpy with rolling shutter :)

High above the village of Črni Vrh, fantastical ice formations—including spikes over a yard long—encase the trees and lookout tower atop Mount Javornik. The windswept ice, or hard rime, is the result of fog freezing after a week of snow and gales. This image appears in the December 2016 issue of National Geographic magazine.

spoilerDamn they got down to business right away! Loved the humor. Love the story, Cheezy streaming refs went on a little long. Fry, Leela and the Professors Voicing had a few rough spots that wouldn't have happened in the last incarnation, it honestly kinda reminded me of some of the early voicing in season 1. John DiMaggio's performance was flawless. I love that they kinda mixed in a small anthology, had most of the people make cameos.
