There. Instead of a useless blogspam "article", here's a link to the game.

The cookies prompt on that site was hilarious, please can we share your info with 750 “partners”.

What the hell would that be necessary for!? No wonder websites are so slow despite modern connection speeds and CDNs.

We and our 750 partners process personal data to: use precise geolocation data; actively scan device characteristics for identification; store and access information on a device; provide personalised ads and content, ad and content measurement, audience insights and product development.

The unlimited greed of companies pushing ads, which have somehow managed to be completely irrelevant to me, and tracking people is astounding. Absolutely no regard for the performance of the site or the privacy of users.

Oh boy! I sure hope Nintendo doesn’t take this down!

Why would they? This project doesn't have anything to do with them

I thought that was taken down by Valve (for supposedly using a proprietary Nintendo library), not Nintendo themselves?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 10 months ago

Yes, and Valve was in fear of being struck down by Nintendo, hence the action

Oh! This isn’t an actual N64 game, is it? It’s only stylised?

~~I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo tried to copyright a style~~

He was using pirated official Nintendo 64 development kit software to build the game, so I mean yeah it kind of did…

To be totally clear I don’t support Nintendo in this decision and it’s a shame it couldn’t be continued but it wasn’t like he was using the available open source toolchain, he was using Nintendo software so at least they had a leg to stand on legally

Also if memory serves Nintendo never even took it down, they just told Valve (who actively reached out to Nintendo) that they couldn’t release it and the developer took it upon himself to stop the project after not receiving Valve’s blessing.
