Playstation 2

I realize this is a year old now, but I'm chiming in anyways.

When I was younger, I would have said Timesplitters 2, or Star Wars Battlefront 2. Both are still great for some couch co-op, but I'm really not into console shooters anymore.

These days, I LOVE Midnight Club 3. Some races demand damned near perfection, but the stakes are so low because you can restart the races at anytime with no penalty. Unless it's a tournament. And it's got an open world element to it, so you can just drive around the city for fun.

Another one I enjoy now is Ys VI: Ark of Napishtim. Pretty sure it's the first 3D Ys game, and it is quite rough compared to Ys VII through IX (haven't played X yet). But it is a decent action RPG, kind of reminiscent of Alundra for the PS1. I'm not a fan of turn-based RPGs, I just want to hit things.

Jak and Daxter, the whole trilogy.

The first one is more of a classic platformer, but Jak 2 and 3 were like fantasy Grand Theft Auto.

Katamari Damacy. It's the only PS2 game I own. Bought it to play on my son's PS2.

The one I played the most was burnout 3.

Though I think the one I replayed the most was ace combat 4

Honorable mention to James bond eon

Shadow of the Colossus was the first game that gave me feels that I couldn't articulate. It re-framed my idea of what a game could be, and gently pushed me to think about games as a medium.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3, this game is perfect as a Dragon Ball Z simulator, even for today's standards, I wanted to mention an exclusive title, but many of the PS2 games have already been ported to other platforms, which speaks very well about the PS2 itself.

Armored Core 3 probably.

I spent hours enjoying Def Jam Fight for New York. My friends and I played the hell out of that game

Amplitude

It's my favorite PS2 title because it completely caught me off guard. This was my first music/rhythm focused game and it got me hooked on the genre in the following years (Harmonix made Amplitude a few years before the Guitar Hero wave started).

Fun game with an amazing soundtrack.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. It fixed the camera issues with 3 which was already a great game. For me 3: S was the peak MGS.

Strange to me that the GTA games didn't make anybodies list. Guess they didn't hold up well over time.

My favorite game to play is "hope the laser doesn't give me a can't read disc error". And by "favorite" I mean it's the game I play the most.
