Match seems pretty even so far, great knock from M Marsh! Few quick wickets from the Aussies has made it a pretty even days play

England catching has been great for us πŸ˜†

We aren't off to the best start, but if England are bowling alright then I'd say out bowling attack should be just as potent

We all know the result in 2019, but it’s easy to forget we bowled them out for 67 in the first innings

Absolute jaffa from Wood. Love watching him bowl even if he is a pom

Some serious heat

Incredible! I’ll be first to admit I was wrong about Mitch Marsh. One of the best tons I’ve ever seen, team in trouble. If we win this match and the Ashes, he’ll be a Aussie legend. Hadn’t play a test for 4 years!

I think Marsh just out-Bazballed the Poms XD.

First session for Day 2 set up to be critical. Hope we can blast through and get at that long English tail.

Hardcore sports night tonight. Footy, Ashes, Wimbledon, Tour de france.

The curious English relationship with blind hope continues. After all the distractions of this series it’s quite obvious that Australia are the better team. They’re batting, bowling and fielding better & are good value for 2-0. Stokes going mental on one leg with the tail is hardly a reliable team ethic on which to build…

Wood is bowling some absolute pace

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Imagine him & Archer? Phew!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Well can the Aussies defend 250, I get the feeling not but it would be lovely to wrap up the series with a tight win 🫠

Not a great first session.

Bairstow is a crap keeper

England have a chance. Australia has a chance, thanks to Travis Head!

It's weird seeing the ball get some extra bounce every now and then. Hopefully the Aussies can take advantage of that and bring home the win for a 3-0 lead

Weather report I saw said there could be rain later in the day over there. Hopefully the weather doesn't ruin what has been another great game.

That was totally a 4. How did the umpire miss it?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Mmarsh with the strokes

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Stokes not only is a pain in the arse, he now has a pain in the arse

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Mmarsh what a legend. A cheeky 50

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Is it bowling conditions or England just want to chase?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Bit of both. The best bowling conditions there will be. And apparently the pitch doesn't deteriorate and it's easy to chase runs.

I need Bairstow to do a Carey during this test, England to go nuts celebrating but then decline the wicket citing The Spirit of Cricket. That would be amusing.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Dammit, if Smith just didn't nick that. Oh well off to the Tour de France & Wimbledon for the lunch break 😁

Lucky for us Bairstow sucks

Uhoh....

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Uh oh indeed

Defeat bazball with cumball

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

What a start! Root gone!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

What would be absolutely hysterical would be if the Aussies mankad'd Bairstow.

Imagine England actually kicking us out of the Commonwealth. "Screw you Aussies! You're a republic now!"

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Boland looking too good to get a wicket. Just needs to be a little less good.

Why the hell not give the spinner a go in the 4th innings on the 5th day BEFORE THE LAST OVER BEFORE LUNCH AND ONLY 100 RUNS NEEDED?

[–] urno 1 points 1 year ago

That was a bit odd. It was the 4th day tho? Super close test and England rode their luck and some of their runs came from batsmen who would ordinarily have scratched around for 2 or 3. Toss of a coin really, but it keeps the series alive. One of the best Ashes series I can remember.
