Washington state has asked a judge to block a proposed merger between Kroger and Albertsons, arguing the $25 billion deal would harm consumers and raise prices.

If this merger goes through every grocery store within like 20min of me would be either this mega corp or amazon...

Grocery stores have already been jacking up food prices to gouge everyone just because they can. We don't need a bigger food oligopoly.

Deal started in 2022 but hasn't wrapped up yet. Was expected to wrap up in early 2024.
