Is this the update that forces the 12 users to buy new ones? I can’t wait, lol.

I’ll still update even though I know I’ll start getting the jittery scrolling and new, awful battery life. 😭

XS user here. Just waiting for my time to come

👋 same, still haven’t found a good reason to upgrade. Phone updates have been mid for the past 3-4 years.

Why would the 12s have issues already? They are not that old? Or am I overlooking something?

@Onse @Gingerlegs I got my 12 three-ish years ago and I’m having a lot of stuttering issues now. Sometimes I don’t get notifications either.

Had the same problem with my phone before that. Had it for three years and then started having issues.

Get the battery replaced, because you probably need one, and do a Backup and Restore. Should fix all the issues. I had the X for 5 years and it works perfectly fine. I just upgraded because I wanted a new phone. If you don’t reinstall all the apps from backup it’s even better as you end up installing so many apps and barely use them.

Notifications issues have existed for a long time in the iOS ecosystem. I have found that doing a full reset of the phone will resolve the issue.

(yes, I have reported the issue to Apple via Feedback but they just don’t care. Quality control has take a backseat)

Doubt it

iOS 16 supports X and up.

I’m still on the XS generation of iPhone. Still haven’t seen a good reason to upgrade yet.

Personally, would like to see Touch ID under the screen.

Also an XS user, will probably upgrade when USB-C appears finally. And Touch ID would be nice indeed, mobile payments with Face ID are annoying.

Are you serious…?

Installed! Thanks!

Actually excited for the song credits in Music.app! Love seeing who actually wrote a song.

Hope they include the back cover of the album artwork.

I really hope these updates improve the reliability of HKSV. The cameras randomly dropping off being able to stream live (despite the thumbnail updating) is getting very old

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I’m glad I am not the only on experiencing these issues.

[–] Sigma_ 2 points 1 year ago

/r/homekit is full of these reports across different brands. I reached out to my camera's support and got escalated. Their logs show nothing odd when it drops and hksv doesn't log anything helpful. It's impossible to figure out what is wrong. Tried the camera on another network and it still occurs, albeit at a different frequency. It seems to be a hk issue that Apple needs to solve.

For those of you who don’t know there’s a community for betas.

[–] abfarid 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

They finally made a community for me!

Self burn. Nice.

[–] Targox 2 points 1 year ago

Great! Thanks for sharing. Weird that they’re mentioning the release of Activity History In Home, this is already working for me on B2

[–] garretble 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I have several smart lights, and right now I see a selection of different color options when I go to change a light setting. That doesn’t seem new to me unless I’m missing something.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not a new feature overall, but the first couple of beta builds didn’t have it for some reason. In beta 1 and 2 there was only one color to tap on and tapping it took you into the color selector, beta 3 brings back having color shortcuts.

[–] garretble 1 points 1 year ago

Oh I see. Thanks.

Sounds like they are just reworking some existing functionality.
