TRY THIS ON WEB: settings > SHOW READ POSTS (UNCHECK) > SAVE
That's close. But then I want to be able to mark something as read even if I don't click into it.
For example, if the post is just a pic, I don't need to read the comments, I just want to mark it read so it's gone.
YEP, I GET IT. I THINK THAT WAS A RES (REDDIT ENHANCEMENT SUITE) FEATURE ON REDDIT THAT I USED. I AM EXPECTING, IF THIS THING TAKES OFF, THEY'LL ADDRESS THAT IN TIME EITHER NATIVELY OR WITH A RES LIKE EXTENSION.
