I used to be a ssre (snr site reliability engineer) but then my gaffer got a promotion and in his sick final act he made me replace him

That is decent at least, as a programmer I strive to ensure zero on-call required
There's been 1 call on Xmas day and that was about 10 or 11 yrs ago. So touch wood that trend continues

Yeah, roof is intact at least. But some ingress we can't figure oot, and damp plaster, so something isn't right
And I've never done wild swimming at all, no wet suit for me either, so might just pass

Am a Yank not far from the DC capitol. Got my spike shot, and I can still finish a marathon, so I’ll be wading into the fray of tourism, ignorance, and (hopefully) bliss.
Any big parties in DC for new years eve? I know NY does stuff, but how about the Capitol?
I’ll be going to a section of the city called Adams Morgan after the fireworks, but no specific plans except I would like to walk around with a joint, since it’s legal there now.
