I've had this before, but of the 3 times I remember, even pre beta, 2/3 the crashes from a cursed wand were cursed wands of corruption.
Funny, this happened with a wand of corruption as well. At least SPD saved the game before crashing, and the wand worked fine after restarting the game.
This is a (rare) intentional effect - the game didn't actually crash (just closed).
Another fun Easter egg
Whoa, really? That's awesome. I'd change the the text to make it less plausible, something along the lines of "the cursed wand just fried your device" or similar.
Do you have the seed of the run that the crash happened? I want to do some tests. I know I'm not the dev, but I find it fun to hunt for details that cause the crash to happen.
Unfortunately I don't have it. I'll be sure to keep it next time it happens.

There is no bug to hunt this time, though you might try to find where the branch to do this is
