Edible means "fit to be eaten".

I guess we could argue about what fit could mean, but a better meme would be "you can eat anything at least once"

Off to go spew my pedantry to some other poor souls!

Edible is a spectrum just like poisonous. It depends on quantities involved. There are plenty of foods that we eat that are dangerous at high doses. Most are spices which we use in small quantities
