If Microsoft wanted it, they could so easily out-bid Sony. MS is on another level when it comes to disposable money and revenue. And I'm sure MS has their eyes on Helldivers because of its success.

So it'd be in Sony's best interest to acquire the studio as quickly as they can.

I think Microsoft has its eyes on just pulling out of the console business.

They need to make an actual straight up generic gaming PC box for the living room that just runs any computer games that allow for x-box controller inputs. Sell something they can make a bit of profit on with the "console" and give a simplified windows OS made to use a controller with a steam deck like OS treatment where you can buy or install any computer games you own on the system, but if you buy any games through their Microsoft store the setup will be easier and all the controls and graphics setting are already tweaked to run well.
