I’m going to move it lower to the ground in an effort to attract house finches. Otherwise the sparrows will take it and they are invasive.

I bought some bottle gourd seeds that I'm going to try and grow this year. Hopefully I can keep the vine borers at bay.

I was finally able to keep the vibe borers from killing my zucchini last year. Maybe I just got lucky, but this combo worked for me:

  1. Manual picking of eggs - I usually do this daily.
  2. Cover bottom of vines with aluminum foil.
  3. Spray with Bt. Follow package instructions, usually spray once or twice per week, depending on if it rained heavily.
