I hope this goes through, at least for wage workers or anyone with no stake in the company. I was surprised to learn how common it was for hairdressers! Janitors!? The idea may have a purpose in some places, but it's obviously being abused to punish any employees who leave regardless of the reason.
What do you mean "goes through?" It's a decision from the FTC so it went through, unless I'm misunderstanding that process.
Chamber of commerce going to sue to block. They work for the overlords.
weird argument, people who want to spill secrets would do it regardless without being officially employed.
except it's up to the employer to say no to that, not taking someone hostage with a non-compete. Also as I said, even with the non compete in place, there's literally nothing to stop people who want to make money through these leaks to just sell them secretly, and then make enough money to live without working through the non compete period.
