All aspects of the LW TOS apply.
Be constructive and don't gatekeep. Music is highly subjective, and people have different tastes.
If the source is YouTube, use the actual YouTube URL rather than a specific Invidious/Piped link. This prevents dead links as those go on/offline or break due to Google changes while also letting people's browser plugins, Lemmy clients, etc automatically re-write YT links to their preferred instances. Feel free to put alternate links in the post body, though.
Submissions must be from the 90s (1990 - 1999) based on either recorded or release date. e.g. if it was recorded in 1999 but released in 2000, we're not going to split hairs over that; post away. Covers made in the 90s of older music is absolutely allowed and encouraged.

The preferred title format is Artist - Song Name [YEAR]
If a song has a particular meaning or evokes a pleasant memory for you, feel free to share your story with it.

Really enjoying that younger generations are still getting into this. Music is the bridge, you know? Intergenerational empathy.

Also, if this is your gateway drug to the world of grunge, good times are heading your way. I'm in my old age and still finding bands from that era that passed me by.

My father (Who loved all the druggy bands of the 70s) hated Nirvana. I remember his looking at the lyrics with me at 12 year old and how they don't make sense....No shit Dad I don't know what Heroin addiction is....thirty years later I still love Nirvana but also lots of Death/Grindcore and stoner/doom too.

If you ever get the chance check out the Devonshire mix of Nevermind...it's Butch Vig's original mix.

I agree with the sentiment completely, but I grew up with this 😆. Still enjoying it as much as I did back then. :)

Definitely with you on finding bands of yore that I wasn't aware of at the time. A few months ago, I was on a Pat Benatar kick having never really listened to anything of hers and only familiar with "Hit Me With Your Best Shot".
