The current
0.18.1-rc.xwhich is running on lemmy.world was a huge performance improvemen, i. e. lemmy might actually be able to handle such things in the near future.That would be nice, but we need to move way more people here for that

Yeah probably it could, and I'm sure we'd all love it since we're all here What I meant is that outside of ethic reasons, anet would default to reddit instead since the community is using that.
To have them here we would need to have the majority of the community to switch to lemmy first
