Well there's some karmic justice right there.
However, once he gained his freedom and made it back to Wear Africa, it seems like he returned to selling slaves. So apparently the whole experience was lost in him from an empathetic perspective.
Overall, he sounds like he was an asshole.
Interesting article though.
Slavery is horrible, but to put this in perspective, many (most?) cultures around the world had some form of slavery, however America had a particularly brutal version of it. When we think of slavery in general, we picture it as American slavery, but that's inaccurate.
