What a wild run. Ring of Force, Ring of Might, and +10 plate armor carried me to a phat W, ascend is still in progress.
I held on for dear life for most of the dungeon, hoarding my upgrade scrolls, and spent a ton of them on my plate armor. Imp quest got me a +3 Ring of Force, and I dumped every other scroll into it.
Turns out Ring of Force and Ring of Might combo well with Warrior, so I tore apart Demon Halls with my bare hands like it was a game of Doom. My only regret was going Gladiator, because one or two shotting things meant I never got a good combo going.

I find you HAVE to have an elemental force ring to make it past the dwarven king. Too much magical damage in the demon halls otherwise.

Oh I do, but they always seem to get me when I'm pinned fighting something else, or zap me from across the map
The trick to fighting the Great Eyes is to fight near corners. They charge for two turns and fire on the third, so you can hit them twice while they charge before you need to dodge. Then, just walk back to where you were and rinse and repeat.
Bait and dodge the laser then rip and tear
A couple scrolls of psionic blast and potions of mind vision can make demon halls more a picnic.
