It's T minus 2 days until my landlord can (and almost certainly will) issue a rent increase notice, and shit like this makes me feel I'm better off putting up with whatever they charge here...

Mine went up 80 a week and I just accepted it. Better than trying for something in this market.

Ouccch. Yeah I'm not feeling great about it at all but I'm thinking the same. I also still have the flexibility of a month to month lease if I stay, and moving is expensive.

It also sucks as a single person as actual minimum rent doesn't go down much the further out you go, you just get a larger house, so no cost savings unless you go back into house sharing.

I'm in the same position. No fucking way am I going back to share housing. Finally having peace and quiet is worth the insane rent cost unfortunately.

If it wasn't for the fact my current place is a shithole and that I need to be closer to my parents, I would not be moving an inch in this current climate.
