That's a good question: does Hogwarts fee the students?
At least Harry got a huge amount of money from his parents, he wouldn't need to worry. Money plays a big role in the wizarding world. If you have money, many doors open, if not ... then not. True. I have seen leftist critics of Harry Potter pointing out how neoliberal it is. Funny but not surprising that neoliberals like it.
I woulnd't necessarily call it neoliberal. Sure, money plays a crucial role but the ministry of magic has huge influence and schools are also in the public hand
It's only called neoliberal because leftists have two labels for things they don't like -- neoliberal and fascist.
It didn't seem better in almost any regard. One exception might be having GIFs work on printed paper. The other I can think of is making things bigger on the inside.
