Comments like this are part of why people don't try Linux.

I use Linux (and Windows) and even I find this kind of thing irritating. I figure if someone wants to know about Linux they'll ask and I will try to be as helpful as I can.

Not really people don't try Linux because of comments like yours. Suggesting an OS which doesn't ship bloat isn't the elitism you think it is
