Who even has that kind of gap on their door? Is it another American thing, like those huge toilet stall gaps?
I had a coworker complaing (complaining!) about a public place with bathrooms that had stalls as proper rooms with doors, suggesting it was some change instituted for trans people, like they're taking over bathrooms. It was dumb to start with, but I had to point out to him that that bathroom setup is far superior so if it's for trans people, that sounds like a benefit for all of us. Then I explained that our shitty stalls were an American thing, not the norm, and it's entirely to cut costs and make a generally worse bathroom experience to save money on construction.
It blew my mind that somebody would complain about something happening that benefits them just because it also benefits some marginalized group they like to complain about (but rarely interact with).
