Idk man. Had we gone to war with Russia, then they probably wouldn't have gone to war with Ukraine. Given their performance against Ukraine, we probably would have squashed them like a tiny little bug under the weight of our terrible boot. Then they probably wouldn't have the resources to run massive online troll farms any more, the Republican party would be negatively impacted, and there would be a lot less propaganda online. Perhaps the whole world would be a little better off if we had gone to war with Russia.

US vs Russia means NATO vs Russia, you don't want to see that war. It will not be fought with infantry and tanks.

makes you wonder though. Russia lost almost all their well trained forces in the opening weeks, what if they were perfectly trained to fight Americans but couldn't handle Ukrainian style of warfare? interesting whatif
