first day of apollo being dead, finding myself sadder than i thought i would be. i knew it was going to shutdown but i guess it didn't feel properly real until it just stopped working
Amen brother / sister!
I’ve tried not using it for the last few weeks to get used to the transition, I like Lemmy and love what it could become, but it’ll take a long time for the community to get there.
It'll take a while. In the mean time, it feels like very old Reddit without the millions of people on it. It's nice in a cosy way.
Whilst I agree, not having access to some of the smaller communities (bluey and formulae for me) is a bit painful, yea you can post stuff to their lemmy equivalents but when you only get 1 or 2 replies it can feel a bit like shouting into the void.
It’ll take time and more work from myself, but I’m sure it’ll get there eventually.

You’ve summed up pretty much how I feel too. Miss some of the smaller communities but I suspect they’ll show up eventually. It was nice to find uk casual already here.
Relay was my app of choice, but other than that this is bang on for me.
The app is still working for me at the moment but I've managed to ween myself off over the last couple of weeks.
Never posted in CasualUK but it was the sub I'd always retreat to. There was a palpable sense of relief when I found this place.

Relay is going to keep going via subscription soon, but will still work now. I'm hoping we reach a decent critical mass here though (early signs are good!)
