Well this is depressing.
I thought I’d have a little relief itch the tax return looking and I’ve just had a quick look at what I’d get back and it’s ended being nowhere what I thought it was going to be.
I’ll be lucky to get back 150 dollars.
I really needed something good to happen in light how tough it’s been supporting my partner and this just is indescribable.
I still have HECS that get paid down every fortnight via my salary, it’ll be interesting to see the reduction in my pay thanks to this next Wed.
Yeah lots of people will get the same shock this year due to the LMITO being discontinued
But heeeey stage 3 tax cuts baby!
Very inegalitarian.
(PS are you BWD on the old DT?)
I'm also TheBigBadDog on the old DT, not BWD though
Tax returns are always bittersweet. On one hand, it's nice getting a lump sum at the end of FY.
On the other hand, I know it's just my own money - that my work has overpaid as taxes - and it would've been so much better for it to be sitting in a high-interest savings during the year, instead of earning nothing in ATO's pocket until I get it back later...
I guess I got my hopes up and thought I’d get a little bit of relief.
It was nowhere near what I was expecting.
I guess at least I don’t owe the ATO anything and have to pay them back. That’s the only bright side to it.
