Early estimates project hundreds of millions of dollars improvement to the city of Shepperton once floodwaters rise, properly prices alone set to skyrocket when instead of living in a shithole town you get to live next to a nice new lake instead.

Shepp was built around the orchids and canneries as well. A lot of the need went away with better food storage and overseas produce being so cheap. Selling SPC to Coke was not good, but the writing was on the wall for years.
