I mean... It is pretty fucking weird to do that when you're sitting right behind the dude and not even say anything?
Maybe it's a Zoomer thing? I don't even see the point in Instagram. I had an account for a bit but realised I had nothing to photograph
My Instagram is 100% pictures of animals. Then once in awhile I'll scroll back and look at all the cute pups I've met over the years.
I can't stand how many ads are on there so I never browse and have no idea how other people use it..
That's a great idea! I often feed starlings bites of my Greggs baguette. I never thought I could photograph them for Instagram. 😀🐦
I love animals and I love taking pictures so when Instagram started I thought it'd be a good place to put them. It's easy to sort photos from a real camera but I find it tedious to do on a phone
But, like, can't you just use Google photos or something comparable for that?
People get small dopamine hits when they see their social media posts get points.

I can lose hours just browsing everyone’s nature photography.
If you’re on iOS, decent apps for it are Tusker and Vernissage… and maybe Mona or Ivory, but they aren’t built for it so the compatibility has a snag here and there.
Tusker uses a traditional Mastodon interface, while Vernissage is minimal-first with a main view of just photos with nothing else.
Also I think Instagram is primarily used by millennials
Younger millennials and older gen z (age range of 20s-30s)
