General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in [email protected] or [email protected]
More serious politics should go in [email protected].

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

As you were told and as the public opinion showed, you chose poor wording and it seems you're talking about the people being better off.

Because indeed, they're not better off.

And you were condescending in your misunderstanding.

I referred to them as courting votes and then said they are better off.

I understand how people got confused but I wasn't wrong and you were rude.

If the majority of people don't understand you, as was the case, you can't claim you were right, that's how communication work.

And I'll be rude and condescending to people I think support stupidity everyday, all the time, without shame.

I would apologize if you at least admitted your way of phrasing lead to that but it's not gonna happen I'm betting.

Condescension and arrogance go really well together, I'd bet people are really looking forward to having you for dinner tomorrow.

Not surprised to know you're dumb enough to celebrate such a backward and corrupted holiday, let's not waste anymore time on you.

This is more telling of you than me, enjoy your misery.
