Independent politician Yekaterina Duntsova wanted to run on a platform to end the war with Ukraine.

But the electoral commission voted unanimously to reject her candidacy three days after her application, citing 100 "mistakes" on her form.

Ms Duntsova said she would appeal the decision at the Supreme Court.

The commission said 29 people have so far filed to run for the presidency. But after today's decision, Mr Putin remains the only candidate to be able to register as a candidate.

Typical. Next he'll float the hope that he's ready to negotiate.

Anyone notice how the news of Navalny disappearing just ... disappeared as well?

[–] Rapidcreek 7 points 1 year ago

Oh there's still some stuff around. Seems like the Russian courts have cleared their schedules of all things Navalny. But, there isn't a lot. Gone Baby Gone.

Not that I want that to drop out of the media circuit but there's only so much to report on. How many different ways can you say a politician disappeared? Especially when the guy responsible is a dictator that simply won't answer any questions regarding the person at hand.
