Well, they are free now to make profitable products elsewhere.

I honestly hope this happens. Whether they get mass poached or just form their own new competition, they were clearly good at making products we enjoy.

They wont. MtG is only the power house it is due to cultural inertia. Better card games die in its shadow because not enough people want to learn an equivalently complex rule system.

And pathfinder, the better dnd, has been there for ages. But not even the community cash grab wotc did shook dnds foundations.
