Stunning that the Pelicans had enough leverage to get this contract.

From the article it sounds like it’s one of the most elaborate structures they’ve ever seen. There’s checkpoints where if he hits certain weight and body fats criteria he can get parts of it guaranteed again.

Think the only reason they had the leverage is the way rookie extension work it’s really almost always the best option unless you really really don’t like your situation and feel confident enough to bet on yourself which likely wasn’t the case with Zion.
