Thanks for posting these! I personally like being spammed with reminders.

BookWyrm is an open and federated alternative to goodreads. I use my instance's website and it's a decent experience. There's an Android app too but I haven't tried it.

I've been curious about Scorn for a while, if it's available. Regardless, thanks for doing this!

Thanks for doing this! It looks like Scorn has been claimed.

I've been very impressed, on the whole. I'm still in awe that a big-budget Bene Gesserit show is being made at all, and I had very low expectations. I assumed it would be a cynical action show about sexy warrior ladies or whatever, but so far they've shown a competent understanding of why I love the sisterhood.

There's definitely fan-service: shoehorned references to the movies, accelerated timelines and drama, and constant nudity that doesn't lift the plot. But it's a complex story that is fundamentally about the intricacies of the early Bene Gesserit, and I'm having a great time.

It's not perfect and not for everyone, so it really depends on what you want from a Bene Gesserit show. My ideal show would never, ever be green lit, so I'm happy to accept this version.

Wow!! I think most of us assumed cancellation was politically impossible, so it's going to be very interesting to watch the fallout of this report. What will be the battlelines in Congress?

We shouldn't overreact, as Berger points out none of the relevant appointments have been made. It's still a stunning report with huge implications. Here's the full quote:

To be clear we are *far* from anything being settled, but based on what I'm hearing it seems at least 50-50 that NASA's Space Launch System rocket will be canceled. Not Block 1B. Not Block 2. All of it. There are other ways to get Orion to the Moon.

Did not enjoy the wait for AOS!

May Clipper have a boring journey.

Stunning. They have no right to make it look so easy.

I was ready to wait until Christmas for this and now I'm not emotionally prepared!

If there's a catch attempt I'm expecting a mild success where something goes wrong (those arms sway sooo much), but I'm optimistic about Ship reentry. Going to be great.

Curious to see what happens in the Gulf given Zack Golden's speculation from a few days ago. Are they really going to retrieve a booster that's hundreds of meters below sea level? Feels hard.

I'm getting confused by all the numbers involved. Here's my current understanding:

  • Bolt pattern needs to be an exact match (ex/ 5x114)
  • Diameter needs to be exact match, but there's some flexibility with width (ex/ 17x7 and 17x8 are probably interchangeable)

Things I'm confused about:

  • Does offset need to be an exact match? (ex/ ET45 vs ET42?)
  • How careful do I need to be with tire size, if the rim is correct? For example, if my car originally had 225/50R17, can I use a 225/65R17 tire?

Is there a good website for explaining these details? I've spent time on various wheel database websites, and they only give a list of sizes without explaining why they're compatible or not.

Thanks!
