There's no question this would be a smart and sensible policy to promote. During the peak of the pandemic we saw flu rates drop to almost nothing. It directly correlated with masking and social distancing. It doesn't take a genius to understand that the winter months are when respiratory illnesses peak and the use of masks would limit the spread.
Unfortunately this easy solution to a common problem got sucked into the culture wars and some people are going to die on the hill of never wearing masks. Those people are fucking stupid. But it's not illegal to be a dumbass in this country.
So you're going to then? Starting now, everywhere you go?
I think acknowledging that wearing a mask prevents the spread of illness, and that wearing a mask in public is a sensible, low barrier way of contributing to society is a step in the right direction.
If people merely wore them in particularly crowded areas, or leading up to major holidays, or while possibly ill themselves, just that intermittent use would be an improvement.
I still carry a mask. I still wear mine on mass transit, etc. I'm more afraid of harming others than I am of appearing foolish to regressive, antisocial, toddlers.
Haha silly man, you assume I go anywhere or do anything. I made it through covid just fine adhering to that policy.
What are you trying to imply, that they should but wont, that they shouldn't but will, some other combination?
