Blizzard alone has employees around the globe and can't manage to perform maintenance at night for specific regions?
It always pissed me off to no end how WoW would do it's maintenance. If I recall they would take down every instance at the same time during the middle of the day. I always thought it was a no-brainer to do rolling updates and people could choose their preferred instance based on when it goes down for maintenance.
