yeah. I'm following what psych said.

3 pills. breakfast, lunch and dinner no side effects now. a little less anxiety I guess

Did he initialky offer it or did you do your research and inquire about it? It feels like the latter situation is more likely

RemindMe:Week or whatever. You're in for a roller coaster ride of chronic opioid withdrawl synptoms—if you think your ADHD is bad now...

she offered 1st based on possible side effects I wanted to avoid (other antidepressants I tried like fluoxetine affected my sex life, in a negative way). I hadn't read anything about it.

Ah k. Like, you do you but I suggest you read the wikipedia page on Tianeptine, it has narcotic effect (mu-opioid receptor agonist activity).

In a sense, it is to endorphins what stimulants are to norepinephrine/dopamine. Also seems very short half-life 3 hours so you'll be redosing like Whitney on crack.

I've already read the entire wiki, posts, everything I could find. the issue seems to be the dosages. recreational usage is like 1-10g or more. with such low dosage not sure I'll feel something even If I stop cold turkey.

3 pills per day. 12.5mg each. she said to space it out. breakfast, lunch, dinner

2nd day on 37.5.mg. don't feel much. maybe a bit less anxiety. she said it takes over a month to feel the effects. huh lol. next consult is in January. not sure what to feel or believe. Just depressed in general lol

i have the awareness of a potato so... if it's not an obvious feeling, I'll just discard it without thinking about it.

edit: in the past I've stopped taking 72mg for a week (after taking it daily for 3 months or something) and felt.. a bit of a headache. maybe.

It doesn't matter so much how you subjectively feel or your expectations. Its a physiologicical certainty that once you're on it long enough (could be as soon as 1-2 weeks of tri-daily usage. And when you're not using it you'll be in opioid withdrawal chronically unless you plan to install a permanently connected IV push to your veins or stomach or whatever.

Its extremely short acting like crack cocaine so you'll be in discomfort a lot until you push on the bender and keep to music pumpin' ;)

Up to you guy, you've consulted and been advised. I would appreciate if someone showed me how to set up time-notifications and I'll set it for 2 weeks and if you could commit to getting us all up to speed, that would be an interesting Lemmy-experiment 👨‍🔬

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

chronical withdrawal? damn. you're scaring me. a bit. what exactly do you mean?

if I stop taking it. 5 months from now, without taking it, will I still feel the withdrawal or something?

[–] cheese_greater 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

I would find another treatment. Antidepressant wise, maybe get a backup script of Wellbutrin SR or XL (XL is longer but milder since it divides the dosage by 24 hours and SR is more concentrated/released sooner).

Maybe see how you do with the stimulant medication for a bit before you look to add to the stack since Wellbutrin is technically a mild NDRI (baby Ritalin for grownup imao) and the fact its an antidepressant (even a novel one) suggests depression is mediated by at least norepineohrine and dopamine and its a bit duplicative with the stronger stim that already does that

Tianeptine is really only practical or "good" for risky usecases. You do you but you don't need to fall off every cliff before you take a moment and look down to get an idea of where this adventure inevitably leads each time it plays out

Edit: maybe upvote when people help you out to so other peoplem grt to see it. Its as much a courtesy to those who take the time to help you as it is to keep it visible if you feel value was created

I've tried wellbutrin before. before I was on any stimulants.

wellbutrin made me sedated af. after a few weeks it was a Lil better and less sedated but still.. didn't notice anything besides the sedated part

what fucked me bareback with aids was Strattera. only took 80mg for a month ing August and it was fucking bad. full body goose bumps for no reason. weird feelings, and it also made me depressed. which continues I guess. my situation in life doesn't help either but still. I was sort of fine while taking 72mg concerta.

done. I've upvoted all your replies

[–] cheese_greater 2 points 10 months ago

There ya go 😎 But for now I don't have additional comments since I've given what I know. Maybe work your ay thriugh different classes.

If you wanna try on the mental side, look into Self-Therapy by Jay Earley (get the audiobook and do a chapter a day). To me, IFS is the gold standard of therapy but I make no claim to universal acclaim, altho it is getting more popular (with this wanderer anyway). Drugs are going to be the answer you seek because you probably have no standard for that which you are seeking to find or return to, emotionally and mental health wise

[–] cheese_greater 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Did you find Concerta helped on the depression side?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

yes. a bit. until we added Strattera to the mix

[–] cheese_greater 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

Edit: btw, if you're having a good chat and you uvote peoples stuff if its useful or on the right track, they will often recipcroate. Its a good way to know if you're on the same page implicitly sometimes. Is for me def

I saw your reply so thats a good step but oay attention to when its there and missing cuz it gives you a compass and instant feedback based on your output

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I usually upvote but today is not a good day. personal stuff happened. depressed blabla I'll feel better after sleeping

[–] cheese_greater 1 points 10 months ago

Gotcha but it helps people infer that their input is desired and there's a better chance of you noticing if you're putting people off like the bareback anal whatever aha.

I get its folksy but its going to ward off others in this kind of instance or others from without who are trying to tend to their mental garden ;)

Check out Self-Therapy tho, its an affirming practice that takes a bit of getting used to but its really the most natural approach I've stumbled upon so thats all I got, good luck

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

UPDATE. still alive. don't feel anything tbh. maybe helps a bit with the Concerta crash. some days I forget to take 1 or 2 out of the 3 daily pills. maybe a bit more anxiety those days? can't distinguish between anxiety caused by real world problems

next consult is January, will probably stop taking it. slowly I imagine to reduce sideffects. or I could try cold turkey. really curious about how'd feel. if anything at all.

[–] cheese_greater 2 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

Do you find yourself able to skip days at a time, seems like thatsa-no?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

haven't tried skipping on purpose. yet

[–] cheese_greater 0 points 9 months ago

Try. See how you feel

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I've set up a reminder in 2 weeks

[–] cheese_greater 1 points 10 months ago

How can I do that going forward can you copy and paste the code between a pair of backwards things like these
