So we updated to 0.18, less than 30mins later already had 120 bots already signed up. Wish we didn't have to turn registrations on :(

It's disappointing to see, 0.18.1 will add bot-check back.

Yeah, 0.18 really helps with server federation timeouts but no captcha is insane. Can you just disable signups temporarily until the next version is out?

Technicality we could ... But I don't want to disable it until the captcha is decided on and created.

How do actually identify bots? I know there is a box you can check to indicate a bot, but if that does not get checked is there a way to tell if the account gets used by bots?

Technically no. You have to do some analysis on the user account activity, if the always upvote one user or only post the same domain etc
