Fyi, I would advise against this. An alarming number of dogs get hurt by it. They chase after it, and try and grab it. If the angle is just right(wrong?) the stick can impale their mouth. It requires surgery to fix.
Unfortunately it's not a stupid dog problem, but an enthusiastic dog one. The best bet is to use toys that can't seriously hurt them in a moment of bad luck, e.g. tennis balls.
Those dogs were defective to begin with. It's unfortunate, but inevitable.
