Getting the User to switch to it is.
People really underestimate how incredibly difficult achieving a 'network effect' in order to reach scale of users. Twitter is a really simple application, but the audience/user base is hard to replicate.
It reminds me of so many solo devs who want to build a startup app/SaaS and they estimate 'If I hit 100,000 users, then I'll make x amount of revenue, so I'll charge $5 a month'...when in reality just getting to 100 users a month will take an incredible amount of effort (or advertising money).
For example, Tik-tok spent millions advertising their platform - giant billboards in Times Square, digital ads all over Instagram, Google, etc....just to get traction and create a network effect.
Getting users to change their behavior is always the hardest part
