Rules for c/steelers

Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.

  1. Shit-posting (Irrelevant/Low Effort Content)

All posts must be related to the Pittsburgh Steelers ranging from player/coaching news to fandom/merchandising. Low effort posts, memes, or "shit-posts" can be removed at the moderator's discretion. Rumors and speculation posts that are misleading may also be removed at the moderator's discretion.

  1. Being a Jagoff (Disrespect and Civility)

Be nice, respect others. Keep it civil. Don't be a damn Jagoff.

Everyone is here for enjoyable Steelers content and to participate in the community. Just because you disagree with someone's opinion, it doesn't give you the right to bash, insult, personally attack, show sarcasm and/or be rude to others.

Follow the golden rule and don't be a jagoff.

  1. Banned Subjects

No discussion of politics or religion. If it's controversial, yet related to the team (e.g. Anthem Protests), the mods reserve the right to keep or allow the content if it is relevant.

  1. Prejudice and Discrimination

Hateful comments are NOT tolerated. No racism, sexism, misogyny, prejudice, discrimination, etc. of ANY kind. /r/steelers is an equal community for all to browse and enjoy. The assessment of any report that may violate this rule will be done at the moderator's discretion. Severe violations of this rule will result in a permanent ban.

  1. Fantasy Football Topics

Posts regarding fantasy football will be removed. Comments regarding fantasy football are allowed, yet regulated. The moderators aim to keep discussion based strictly on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

  1. Illegal Content

No links, questions, or self-posts about illegal content. This includes counterfeit merchandising or use of copyrighted material.

  1. Self-Promotion

All self promotion that includes blogs, podcasts, videos, highlights, websites, etc. are not allowed before clearing your submission with the moderators through mod-mail. If you are not an active participant in the /c/steelers community, you will be denied and/or your submission removed.

  1. Flame-Baiting and Trolling

Content that may offend or anger users including insults or personal attacks are not allowed aka "Flame-baiting". Regardless if the OP has the intent to troll/flame-bait or not, such content is prohibited.

  1. Game Day Posting

Mods are in charge of all game-day threads. Any attempt to create a gameday thread will be removed. All posts during a game will be removed outside of fandom and newsworthy posts. All thoughts, comments, and opinions are to be kept inside the game-day thread.

Due to popularity, there is ONLY ONE allowed "upvote party thread" and can only be done in a self-post. All other attempts at vote manipulation and low effort posts will be removed. Player and coach discussions, post-game are allowed.

  1. Trolling Opposing NFL Communities

Going into an opposing team's subreddit and causing problems such as flame-baiting or generating negativity amongst their community WILL get you banned from /c/steelers.

When you represent the Steelers and their flair, you are identifying yourself as a member of the large and expansive Steeler community. Trolling opposing subreddits slanders your name and gives a bad reputation to the rest of the Steelers community who do not deserve to be labeled as such.

Adding another decent veteran to what was probably their weakest position group.

Career seems similar to a guy like Spillane or Elandon Roberts perhaps: not terrible, never good enough to stick anywhere. I'm not familiar enough with him to know where he is on the spectrum of physical-athletic. Hopefully he's more on the athletic side because they have a need there.

Also he is a local so that's always fun.-

The guy always had either a gold or an elite card in MUT, so that’s a good sign. It sounds like this might be the final nail in the coffin for Robinson though.

They usually keep at least 5 ILB's, sometimes 6. So Holcomb, Roberts, Kwiatkoski, Robinson, and Muse. Unless they bring in someone else like Kwon Alexander or Isiah Simmons. Not sure if they'd consider Reuben Foster with his off-field issues.

I think they still like Robinson's upside a lot. Depending on who they add, who stays healthy, and how many they keep, I'm thinking Muse vs Kwiatkoski on Special Teams could be the battle to watch.

I guess he will make it into camp, but I doubt he makes the 53 man at this point. They only had 4 listed ILB last season and 4 listed OLB. I guess it also depends on Herbig; I know they said he will play mainly OLB but it will really come down to the rest of the talent on the roster as to where some of the guys get listed I think. Muse, for example, is listed as an ILB but they could try and have him play linebacker/safety hybrid. I really hope Robinson can make it and get a helmet though. The guy seems to have some incredible upside, even if it's just as a Vince William-type downhill linebacker.

The "final" 53-man rosters to start the season are usually pretty weird, and have gotten weirder in the last few years due to the IR rule. Guys who would have been put on permanent IR in previous years are kept on the active roster to be eligible to return mid-season, and fringe players are bounced off of waivers to compensate.

So to start 2022, they kept 7WR's and only 4 ILB's. By the end of the season, they had 5 ILB's (Bush, Jack, Crowder, Robinson, and Spillane) and only 5 WR's.

In 2021 they bounced both Hassenhauer and Finney off of waivers to start the season to make room for McFarland and Banner on IR.

I do agree that Herbig could be a part of the equation. I think Keanu Neal and the rest of the guys who might play that hybrid role might also be a factor. But I think if the ILB room loses a spot to one of those hybrid players, that will probably be Kwiatkoski or Muse. Unless they think they can sneak Robinson through waivers to the practice squad? But I don't think they risk that.
