Clark Kent would have a bit of a problem if the Joker straight up hit his head with a mallet, and yet he walked away like if nothing happened.

I think they're saying Clark knows that whether the Joker hits him, or if he uses his super strength to stop him, Joker will learn he's Superman's secret identity.
