Poutine consists of Fries, Gravy, and Raw Curd Cheese. Nothing else.

This is stew.

Note: I don't really believe this is true, but it is a fun devil's advocate position to take.

As a Canadian, how dare you. We put all kinds of shit in poutine. I've even had poutine with perogies in it.

As a Montreal-born poutine-sucking monster I agree.

But it is still fun to say otherwise.

I'm not sure if Montreal smoked meat is popular there but the best poutine I've had was just fries, homemade turkey gravy, cheese curds, and Montreal smoked meat.
