No one likes to hear it, but our selfish, transactional, solely self-interested politicians are a reflection of our values. A bunch of temporarily embarrassed millionaires dreaming about their turn to live large and punch down don't make for much of a society.

There is no politician that would ever get my vote just the fact alone that theyre politicans is enough as there has never been a purely good one there has never been a worlds richest man that decided to give all his money to make a real difference in the world either.
