It would be so nice if Apollo decided to integrate with lemmy
I already pinged Christian suggesting this. Although, I imagine he's probably pretty burnt on the whole thing right now.
Burnt is a understatement lol he was slandered by Reddit itself

Though there is a danger to the federation model. Where are images stored and what if an instance shuts down. Is everything lost from that instance?
I did read a comment that if the instance you registered on shuts down, your account goes. Thatβs a problem.
Yes we need to make sure the instances we populate are robust and almost as strong and reliable as a central model.
But itβs not a good model - if someone creates / hosts an instance that becomes popular but then either decides they donβt want to do it anymore, or their personal circumstances change and they have to shut it down, does that mean all the users and posts go? What about unplanned outages? Are hosters capable of running DR or HA? Or even being able to hold it hostage - βHey guys, I can no longer afford to keep this running but if you donate I may be able to keep going β.
