We need a gender-neutral term
In a lot of fantasy the terms are already neutral and only denote magical specialty. Witch - magic user, with a familiar, specialized in potions Warlock - magic user, specialized in the demonic Wizard - magic user focused on pure magic
And Sorcerors dedicated to coming up with new Magic. Hence the Source-ror thing.

I feel like we've dropped gender for wizards in D&D. I've seen a few homebrew witch classes that are gender inclusive.
That's how I've been playing it for years. Witches are folk hedges, barely closer to wizard than druid.
