My problem is when they withhold content from the base game in order to make more money on DLC. Otherwise I see no problem with the developer continuing to support a game for years and getting money in exchange for their efforts.
A lot of people think that they have to buy all of the DLC in order to enjoy the game; if you do, then it's probably not that good of a game anyway. Buy the base game on sale, see if you like it, then slowly add DLC over time. Just my 2 cents.
Cities 1 has so many fucking mods/workshop assests you can play for hundreds and hundreds maybe thousand sof hours with no dlc
