The pain is most acute for lower-income earners, who have largely used whatever they managed to save during the pandemic with the help of government stimulus checks and breaks on obligations such as rent and student loans.

These utterly dumb, inhumane shitwaffles. Do they really think people managed to save during the pandemic? Because of the $700 or whatever you got?

I'm not even from the states and I know how detached from reality this is. And they call themselves a newspaper. Owned by Jeff Bezos of course.
