I'm actually a very anti-idealism pragmatic, but I'm sure with your level of deduction skills you already knew that.

Folks who unironically deny the atrocities of Stalin and Mao (but have no problem denouncing Pol Pot, not because of his atrocities but because of his lack of ideological purity to Marxism/Leninism) aren’t interested in honest debate, nor worthy of my time or respect. Hence my assumption that you were a starry-eyed idealist.
