Also why I don't read Newsweek; nothing but opinion pieces and hyping fear or divisive topics.

As a Finn, Russia has been threatening us with a nuclear strike (more or less directly and in various phrasings) for well over a decade should we decide to join Nato. Among other countless threats about various things over several decades. Not holding my breath waiting for them to deliver
