Is there a way to just block hexbear? Tankie nonsense almost kept me from trying Lemmy at all, and for the longest time, it’s been good. But recently it’s just tankies everywhere and I’m so over them.
Only way is to join instances that have tankie instances blocked.
Any recommendations?
Lemmy.world
Downside as a Lemmy.world user:
For the last chunk of time I have had zero clue the fuck everyone is talking about. Whats a "hexbear" and whats all the hubbub about?
Hexbear is blocked but all the people complaining about hexbear sure isnt lol
Don't worry, when more instances block hexbear you won't hear any mention
It's better than the alternative. Trust me. I've been on an instance that still federates with them till yesterday and they are something else...
lemmy.ca as well.
And hopefully sh.itjust.works in the very near future.
Kbin has the ability to block instances wholesale natively
Not yet. What kbin has is domain blocking, for hiding posts that link to a particular domain. It's also buggy right now, and will just hide random stuff from you.
It’s frustrating to find a post leading to hexbear, question whether I accidentally unblocked hexbear, and find it still blocked. I appreciate the dev immeasurably, but dang it if I don’t occasionally think “darn that guy and his probably very adequate face.”
Isn't being an alpha tester fun? :D
How do I do this? For some reason I'm unable to block individual hex users, and I'm honestly done enough with them to risk accidentally missing out on something else..
https://kbin.social/d/hexbear.net is the domain page.
Amazing, thank you!
Some clients let you, 'connect for lemmy' lets you hide posts and comments from specific instances.
Bad take. If u block em nobody is pushing them back. We can't let them open the door of acceptability.
