I didn’t even know about this option! I think it will be a big/$$ job to replace a system that runs on gas with one that runs on electricity. I’m tossing up between gas storage (what I have now) and gas instantaneous. Instantaneous is more expensive to install but it should be cheaper to run than storage? I don’t know, crap thing is you don’t have long to decide when it breaks.

I’d ditch gas entirely if I was you. Heat pump combined with solar power equals free hot water, basically.

I’m looking into it now. It definitely sounds like the most energy efficient option. There’s currently a $1000 rebate with Solar Victoria if you get a heat pump system installed, that will really help. Thanks for pointing me in this direction!
