From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Maybe this will be the push they need to focus their efforts into thing that are really broken instead of trying to re-invent window management every other release... https://blogs.gnome.org/tbernard/2023/07/26/rethinking-window-management/

Just a side note, I made a very lengthy comment about some of the things they said on that post and as they went against their narrative they simply decided to delete my comment. So much for open-source and open discussion. lol

Maybe some users want a change in window management. Ultimately if GNOME isn't for you then don't use it.
